Society, what?

"Don't do this, it gives a wrong impression."
"Don't say things like that, they leave the wrong impression."
"What are you wearing, have you no care for people would think?"

Impression, message, impression, message. Today's barbaric yawp is all about attaining freedom from these two dratted words! Today's world is all about what message you give, and to who, what impression you leave on their minds, what they will think of you once your back is turned, dadadadadadadadada!!!!

Why is it that in our society, one must think seven times before he or she acts? Why is it that one cannot be oneself, only and only for the sake of being oneself?? Must everything we do or say, be rationalised to such an extent that there is no desire to do it anymore, at all?? Is THAT our society? Yes, unfortunately so.

If we love, we must consider cautiously, nay, gravely, whom we love, from where they come, what colour they are, what language they speak, what they do, and most importantly, whether society will accept it. It seems society has become of-late a devil of some kind.

Hear me say, in this our society, chivalry is dead but racism is not. What society is this?

If we speak we must observe and calculate, far too carefully, what we say, to whom, and how. To some extent, it is only correct. But must a man fear his words to so far an extent that he should become either a recluse, or a villain? For if he should utter but one wrong syllable, should he be marined to the farthest, most unknown corners of society, and looked upon with such harsh eyes and opinions, as though he were damned to the depths?

Oh, opinions! There, there is no shortage. We will not spend money, but wagging tongues, they come for free! We dole our opinions out as though they were the very lifeblood of this world!

Should one love, one must love only and only the opposite sex, or else it is neither love nor right. Who is society to tell us, that woman cannot love woman, and man cannot love man, and yet live the very same life that one should live if man loved woman!

It is bastardy, that one should so alter the spirit one enters this ignoble yet wondrous world with! Why must one become another, for wont of acceptability to this devilish food-chain that is society? What is to be gained, a simple life? I PRAY YOU, BE THE VILLAIN!!
